Sierra Bernia

We start our tours series with a nice route. Many people from all over the world gets amaze waking around the beautiful Crest of Sierra Bernia.
The route makes a circle around the mountain. It offers a great variety of landscapes. On the north side we can see Valencia’s gulf, on the east on a clear day Ibiza, On the south we can see the Palos cape and on the west the mountains of the Marina and the Comtat.

The landscape varies on each side of the mountain. If we start we’ll find an arid area. Once we continue towards the north side it will become colder and more humid. We can enjoy the view of Fort Bernia with its fountain. We can also climb up to the summit (1.126 m). We will go through the almond trees right by the blue sea close to Casas de Bernia and cross El Forat, a natural tunnel that goes through the crest from side to side.
The starting point is in Altea la Vella, just 20 minutes away from Agir, even less if you go by the AP 7 highway.

Mediatic Festival

La Nucia, again on the headlines. The Mediatic Festival 16th and 17th of May.

Two hectic days of music, 37 bands, some of them legends of the music, famous, classics and young bands. The program includes Fangoria, Los Suaves, Medina Azahara, Barón Rojo, La habitación Roja, The Waterboys, Loquillo, Celtas Cortos, Raimundo Amador, Los Secretos, and more…
This interesting festival started in Alcoy, then it went to Alicante and finally to La Nucia where it staid since 2006.

There will be 3 stages, meal area, showers, toilets and a camping area.

From Agir is easy, just 15 minutes by car or public transport and you will find yourself there. During the day you can relax by the pool, the sauna or getting a massage in the spa, or if you prefer you can sunbath or swim in the sea at the beach next to the hotel.

V Mostra de Teatro Amateur

Culture

The fifth edition of Amateur Theatre will take place in La Nucia, at the Auditori de la Mediterrànea, from the 5th of April until the 26th.
Six companies from all over Spain will take part in this interesting event. The final stage of this contest will continue every Saturday and Sunday of April at 8 p.m.
On April the 26th in the closing ceremony people can see the play “La mujer de negro” (The woman in black) with Emilio Gutierrez Caba y Jorge Juan.
Take the opportunity and take a walk in the downtown and enjoy the wonderful views of the mountains. Every Sunday morning you can visit the flee market.

The nights of proms in Benidorm

The next 26th of April Hill take place in Benidorm one of the greatest concerts of the year. Night of the proms is a show that mixes rock and classical music, with artists and groups like Simple Minds, Alan Parson, OMD, John Miles, Galileo or Miguel Rios. On the stage 72 musicians who mix with an electric band playing classic pieces all together with the big hits of the guests artists.

Red mullet and spinches rice

General

Ingredients for 4 people:

3 pieces of red mullets of 250gr
300gr of Bomba rice
190gr of clean spinaches
100gr of monkfish
200gr of shrimps
50ml of olive oil
1gr of saffron in threads
500ml of fish bouillon

Bouillon: 150gr of fresh onion, 200gr of tomato in pieces, 250gr mixed fishes and 50ml of olive oil.

Preparation:

Fry lightly the clean red mullets in filets inside the cauldron (to avoid breaking the filets, first flour them). Put them aside. Afterwards fry lightly the monkfish and the shrimps. Add the rice an the clean spinaches fry lightly with low heat, add the saffron and put the bouillon. The rice must be watery, turn off the heat and add the red mullets.

Sorolla’s Light

Almost a century ago, Joaquin Sorolla set off on a journey around Spain to capture its “visions”, having been commissioned by American Hispanist Archer Huntington to decorate one of the rooms at the Hispanic Society in New York reflecting everyday Spanish life in the early 20th century. On this 7 year long journey, a mature and happy Sorolla, who could capture the Mediterranean light like nobody else, discovered the changing light of the rest of Spain: the radiant clarity of an autumn day, the luminosity diffused by the approach of winter, the brilliant spring sunshine ant the colour of hot summer days. He captured it all on 14 huge, incandescent canvases of Visión de España (vision of Spain), an exhibition showing at the Centro Cultural Bancaja in Valencia until 31st March

Sierra Helada Natural Park

Just a few minutes away from the Agir Hotel, you can find the park of Sierra Helada. This is the only park in the Valencian region with a maritime landscape.
Her diversity in the picturesque seaviews and valleys are definitely a visit worth.
Discover its history, its landscape, its flora&fauna and enjoy the 3 interesting walking paths. Two of these roads begin at the information point in Albir. The third one begins at the end of the Levante Beach in direction of the Cross or the Cavall point. The wonderful seaview is absolutely fascinating.

Justice, security and deliquency in Alicante

Rotary Club

Last Tuesday, February the 26th, Benidorm Rotary Club, in their conferences cycle, invited Mr. Vicente Magro and Ms. Carmen Galipienso, President and Secretary of the Audiencia Provincial de Alicante.
In their conference, current issues that affect justice and security problems in Alicante province were discuss. At the same time they presented the reports of the last congresses and meetings, where their time has presented different and innovating ideas about the operation of Spanish justice.
